Waffles with Strawberries

or just waffles

 

Heat waffle iron
 

Strawberries

2 cups of sliced strawberries

2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Wash and slice the strawberries, toss with sugar and vanilla
Cook in pan until thickened, stir often.

Waffles

2-1/2 cups flour

! teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

3 egg yolks, beaten

1-3/4 cups milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup vegetable oil

3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

1/4 cup powdered sugar, syrup or jelly 

Directions

Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cinnamon

In a separate bowl, combine egg yolks, milk and vanilla

Add to dry ingredients and mix

Stir in vegetable oil

Carefully fold in egg whites

Do not over mix, should be lumpy

Pour the amount needed in to your waffle iron.

Serve with strawberries and powdered sugar or syrup.
Brown to your taste
